Laura Rikard is an Assistant Professor of Theatre at the University of South Carolina Upstate. Her focus is performance and directing. She is also an affiliate faculty with the Women and Gender Studies Program. Previously she has served on faculty at the University fo Miami, Brown University, and Stephen F. Austin State University. She has been named by Academic Keys as a “Who’s Who in Fine Arts Education.” She is a member of the National Alliance of Acting Teachers. She has been a guest artist at over thirty Universities, Colleges and Theatre Companies, nationally and internationally.

She is a member of the Association for Theatre in Higher Education, Association of Movement Educators, and Voice And Speech Trainers Association. Previous students have won the National Shakespeare Competition, and placed as finalists in the KCACTF Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship program. Many of her students have been accepted in top graduate programs. Former students can currently be seen in numerous films, television series, and commercials, as well as working in theatre in NYC, Chicago, LA, and London.
